We have recently shipped a graphical tool to simply the servers management in AMP & APP Stacks for Linux, OS X and Windows. The BitNami Manager Tool is a simple graphical interface that can start and stop the BitNami servers that are located in the same installation directory. To start the utility, double click the file named ‘manager-windows’,‘manager-linux’ or ‘manager-osx’ from your file browser. |

In addition to an updated PHP version, we include the latest release of phpMyAdmin, PEAR components and related libraries, including the much requested mcrypt extension. All BitNami *APPStacks and *AMPStacks Updated |

We’re happy to announce that all of the BitNami *APP Stacks and *AMP Stacks have been updated to newer releases of the bundled software. In all of the Stacks, PHP was updated to version 5.2.14 and OpenSSL was updated to version 0.9.8 (note that OpenSSL is not bundled in the WAMPStack or WAPPStack.) One of the most repeated questions in the BitNami forums is how to install vmware-tools in the BitNami Virtual Appliances. In this post we will try to explain the process to install them manually. Before starting your Virtual Appliance, you should add a cdrom device to the machine if this device does not exist.
