Deki Wiki

I would like to suggest a stack for Deki Wiki from Mindtouch. It is a great wiki, which offers much more in refined features that the current wiki offerings. Development is active and quite thoughtful. The extensions and plug-ins are very useful and make sense. It is a fully open source product, which has a commercial angle for hosting and support. The have a VMware install but a stack would make the regular Windows install seamless.

We are in contact with the Mindtouch guys. Based on our experience, having a stack will give them substantially more downloads / end-users than just the VM. However, they have kind of a tricky stack in that they have a lot of different components / runtimes so it is significantly more complex than just a pure LAMP stack

Hi Daniel: Thanks for the reply. That is encouraging to hear that you have been in communication with them. They really have an outstanding Wiki product that contains many of the features a business or community group host wants. I hope their tricky issues do not get too much in the way of a making successful stack in relatively near future. Again, thanks for the interest and for the information. – Jim
