stop and restart

I would need to stop and start again serveral times the Alfresco service to check if my changes in some xml files work properly… but once I stop the Alfresco Tomcat service (even if I stat it again) Bitnami Alfresco Stack doesn’t work again unless I restart my computer.

I would like to know how can I stop and restart the service without switching off the computer (since I have to do a lot of proofs)

My understanding is that you have installed Alfresco on Windows. It is strange, could you post the /apache-tomcat/logs/catalina.out file?

yes I have it on Windows. it seams like after restarting the service… the 8080 port it is not really free, but I’m not sure about it.

Problem solved! The “start/stop bitnami stack service” didn’t work properly in Windows 7… but, now I installed a Virtual Box with Windows XP and there, the Bitnami “start/stop” does work! Now I’m working very fast since I can see if my changes do want I wanted withing less than 1 mintute… I can believe it! =D

The problem on Windows 7 is that you have tu run the shortcut as Administrator. Cheers.
