Before we start i have read the standard login posts on this forum as to how to connect via SSH into an EC2 instance.
Have installed a Joomla 1.6.3 instance [bitnami-joomla-1.6.3-0-linux-ubuntu-10.04-ebs (ami-d193a4a5)]
Have successfully connected to the instance and have the correct CHMOD permissions on the .pem file
am using the following (with xxx replacing the real ip):
ssh -i prospeed.pem bitnami@ec2-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx.eu-west-1.compute.a…
The response is positive and requests the password:
on putting in ‘bitnami’ as a password it comes up with ‘permission denied please try again’
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Hi,
It is strange, could you try SSH with -vvv option?

Output of -vvv below.
Not too familiar with ssh so did not include the .pem file this time.

Please use the “-i prospeed.pem” option too. Is the private key in the same folder where you are running the SSH command? If not you have to specify the path to the prospeed.pem file.

The .pem is in the same folder.
Will try and report back.
Thanks

Sorry, not sure what could be happening. Check again that your ssh key is correct and try to access with a different machine.

would the fact that we are on a micro instance have any bearing? Have read that this may have an impact but wouldnt have assumed so.
Thanks
