Hi There, I am testing theme installs etc right now and that is the only way to install them is via FTP. Just curious to know if there is a way to get FTP access into the Moodle Stack. Cheers! Jennifer |

Hi, You need access to copy the theme files in the moodle installation. I suggest to use a SCP program to copy the files instead of using FTP. You can find a quick guide at http://wiki.bitnami.com/Virtual_Appliances_Quick_Start_Guide#How_to_copy_files_in_the_Virtual_Appliance.3f |

Hi there, No I need to load my theme from 1.9 into the 2.0 to determine workload etc as we move forward with the upgrade. We were hoping we could FTP into the stack in effort to avoid the server space. It appears from your post that to are speaking FROM the 2.0 VM install to my local machine or server… I need to copy TO the VM install. Thank you for the help, I did take a look at the article and I will see what the “left brainers” come up with. |

Hi, You can copy to the VM or from the VM. A SCP tool (like WinSCP or any other) uses a SSH connection instead to open a new port for FTP. It is exactly the same than FTP but more secure. |

Hi, My question same as jenniferbryan regarding copying my customized theme to moodle and I managed to establish a connection to VM through WINSCP but I didn’t find moodle or moodle theme directory to proceed copying my theme. How I access moodle theme directory within VM? By the way my setup is VMware ESXi 4.1 and moodle stack. Thanks. |

Hi, Take a look at the following guide to sync files http://wiki.bitnami.com/BitNami_Cloud_Hosting/howto/Migrate_your_local_PHP_based_application_to_the_cloud_with_BitNami_Cloud_Hosting In this how-to you can find how to migrate your files to BitNami Cloud Hosting. It is very similar for a Virtual Appliance, the only difference is that you do not need the private key, only the user/password of your machine. Regards. |
