Can't get pass installation error
|
|
Hi all, I’m getting an error during installation when trying to start the MySQL service. Nothing else said about the error except that the application will exit. Tried installing in a different folder, same error still comes up. I have an existing MySQL installation, but the service isn’t started. Please help! |

Hi Sandy, What windows do you have? Is there a “rubystackMySQL” service into your service panel? What happens if you start this service? Can you please provide us the installation log? It is located by default at: C:\Documents and Settings\your-user-name\Local Settings\Temp\bitrock_installer_*.log you can mail it to beltran@bitnami.com thanks. |

Hi Beltran, Thanks for the speedy reply! Found the log, here’s the snippet of the error. I’m running on WinXP SP 2, and nope there isn’t a rubystackMySQL in the service list. It’s shown in E:\, but the error still appears when I try to install in C:\. Initializing MySQL Database Script output: Script stderr: Waiting for MySQL to Start. Script output: Script stderr: Error running E:\RubyStack/mysql/scripts/myscript.bat admin : Program ended with an error exit code |

Hi Sandy, If you go to
and you execute on the command prompt:
What error does it show? Have you try to install with your MySQL database stopped? Thanks. |

Hi Beltran, The following error shows ERROR 2003 (HY000): Can’t connect to MySQL server on ‘localhost’ (10061) I’m certain my MySQL database isn’t running – first it doesn’t start automatically, second, I’ve double-checked in the Services list. I’m quite stumped too- I have had success with Instantrails, so I thought I’d report this to you guys. Hope I can help. |
