WinXP rake not functioning

System:
WinXP SP3 on Pentium 4 2.8Ghz
bitnami-rubystack-2.1-1-dev-windows

Issue:
“rake db:create” returns

C:/Program Files/RubyStack/ruby/lib/ruby/1.9.1/rubygems.rb:340:in `bin_path’: ca
n’t find executable rake for rake-0.8.7 (Gem::Exception)
from C:/Program Files/RubyStack/ruby/bin/rake:19:in `’

I can’t find a rake bat or exe anywhere under …ruby/1.9.1/ but I do see ‘rake’ and ‘rake.bat’ in C:/Program Files/RubyStack/ruby/bin/

“gem install rake” returns

Successfully installed rake-0.8.7
1 gem installed
Installing ri documentation for rake-0.8.7…
Installing RDoc documentation for rake-0.8.7…

“gem update rake” returns

Updating installed gems
Nothing to update

Could you try to remove the “your_installdir/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/specifications/rake.gemspec” file? I tested this solution and rake works properly now.
