Trac Stack Install Error - Help please

Hi,
this is my first time using BitNami and having read lots of good reviews from these ‘easy install’ stacks, I was very hopefull that i could get a complete Trac Stack working on windows very quickly.

Unfortunately, having downloaded the most recent stack, I have an error during the install which prevents the complete stack from being installed.

I am unable to locate a log file anywhere, where i can post the output from the error message, so i will do my best to summarise manually:

There has been an Error.
Error running …python.exe “…ez_setup.py”
Traceback (most recent calls last):
File …ez_setup.py, line 274, in main(sys.argv[1:])
file …ez_setup.py, line 208, in main from setuptools.command.easy_install import main
file …easy_install.py, line 15, in
file …sandbox.py, line 244, in AttributeError: ‘module’ object has no attribute ‘reduce’
The application will exit now.

Can anybody please help?

First of all, sorry about the problems you are experiencing. Could you tell me the Windows version you are using? Did you create a default project during installation?

Thanks for your prompt response, I am using Windows XP Professional and Yes I did opt to create a default project during the installation (for which the folder structure was never created)

I have also tried installation without creating a default project and with creating the default project in its default location and the error is still the same!

We cannot reproduce it. Do you have any Python installation? If so, how did you installed it? If you open a windows command prompt and you execute the command ‘set’ do you see any PYTHON related environment variable?

For your information:

I had previously installed CollabnetSVN, which, unbeknown to me had installed Python2.5 and had created PYTHON_PATH AND PYTHON_HOME environment variables. I removed these variables and was able to install successfully

Thanks for your feedback! On our side we will improve the BitNami Trac Stack so it is not affected by those environment variables if they exist.
