root password

Hi, I just download bitnami sugarcrm & joomla. However, I could not log in as root as authentication error. Anyone know latest root password? I could not install gnome desktop and reboot the server now. Thanks.

The default user to start the Virtual Appliance console is “bitnami” and the password is “bitnami”. Then you can login as root with:

$ sudo su

If you want to login in the drupal or joomla administration panel, the default user is “user” and the password is “bitnami”.

I am having a similar issue with the RubyStack on Ubuntu 10.10. I installed the stack, then did sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop. I am able to login to the Gnome UI as bitnami/bitnami but…

When I go to System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager, it asks for the Administrative password – and “bitnami” isnt it.

Suggestions?

It is strange. Could you try to set a root password from the command line?

$ sudo su
# passwd

Then try the same using this password.
