Root password issue

The student that set up our wiki media appliance never wrote down the new password he gave to the server is there a way to get that or is all lost?

Hi,

The password for the bitnami user is “bitnami” by default. If you want to set the root password user, you should log in as “bitnami” user in the machine and then run the following commands:

$ sudo su
Password: <- specify the “bitnami” user password
# passwd <- set the new root password
