Could you check if /usr/lib/libltdl.3.dylib exists? You can do that by issuing the following command in a terminal:

ls /usr/lib/libltdl.3.dylib

Hello semalchemy,

Could you try the following?

- Connect to your server with Putty.
- Run this command replacing “installdir” for your application folder and addonurl for the url of the addon you want to install:

sudo wget addon_url —directory-prefix=/installdir/apache-tomcat/shared/lib/

For example, I’m going to install Flickr Dashlet:

sudo wget http://share-extras.googlecode.com/files/flickr… —directory-prefix=/opt/bitnami/apache-tomcat/shared/lib/

And now, restart the server:

sudo /installdir/ctlscript.sh restart tomcat

I tried to do this with filezilla and i know my ppk works fine because i connect with the same one for putty. This is the error.

As stated before, a regular connection to FTP port 21 takes me to the alfresco directory but i can’t get to teh root or apache-tomcat dir.

Sorry for the double post, I also should have mentioned if I upload an image I get the same error as the original poster.

“xxxxxx.png” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory /opt/bitnami/apache2/htdocs/wp-content/uploads/2011/08. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I’m running bitnami-lampstack-5.3.6-0-linux-x64-ubuntu-10.04-ebs (ami-276a3862). I did a manual install of wordpress in the base folder (/opt/bitnami/apache2/htdocs). The site works, however something is wrong with the file permissions.

-WordPress can’t save files such as updating the .htaccess when modifying permalinks
-WordPress can’t upload or delete new plugins
-WordPress can’t upload media

I edited the php.ini’s upload_tmp_dir and set it to /tmp, but that didn’t do anything (suggested fix from another thread).
opt, opt/bitnami, wp-content folders all have permissions of 755 when viewing in WinSCP.

htdocs permissions are:
drwxr-xr-x 5 bitnami daemon 4096 2011-08-06 08:24 htdocs

Thanks very much for that advice. Unfortunately I’m still having trouble. I’ve now tried to reinstall the Bitnami Joomla 1.5.23-0 x86 stack (I must have had a PPC stack) on a Mac (now running OS X 10.7) and now have the following error message:

Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libltdl.3.dylib
Referenced from: /Applications/joomla-1.5.23-0/*/php.bin
Reason: image not found

The message at the end of the failed installation indicates error running /applications/joomla-1.5.23-0/php is something like:

Error running /Applications/joomla-1.5.23-0/php/bin/php -q /Applications/joomla-1.5.23-0/php/bin/fixreg.php /Applications/joomla-1.5.23-0/php/lib/php/.registry @@BITROCK_PHP_ROOT@@ / Applications/joomla-1.5.23-0/php : dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libltdl.3.dylib

Hello daveth:

Have you installed a PPC version of Joomla! stack? Rosetta support (the program that OS X uses to run PPC programs in compatibility mode) was dropped in OS X Lion.

You could go back to Snow Leopard, create a database backup of Joomla!, reinstall Lion, install an Intel version of Joomla! stack, restore any customizations or plugins you had and restore the database backup you made earlier.

I installed Joomla 1.5 from a Bitnami stack over a year ago on a mac, and all has been working well until I upgraded my mac from os x 10.6 to 10.7 Lion. Now when I execute ctlscript.sh, I get the error
‘Launch of “my_print_defaults.bin” failed: the PowerPC architecture is no longer supported.’

And of course mysql, apache, Joomla don’t run.

Not an expert at this, but is there a revised script that I can use for the newer Intel (not PPC) based Macs.

Help please (because I don’t really want to go back to an older os x 10.6)

Alfresco does not need any change, you should be able to connect to Alfresco from other computers in your network.

Right, the user is root and the password is the same that you set during the installation. The “bitnami” user is only to connect the application with the database for security reasons.

The problem is that you need root privileges to modify this file. Try to connect through SSH and edit the phpmyadmin.conf file:

sudo vi /opt/bitnami/apps/phpmyadmin/conf/phpmyadmin.conf

Then restart the server:

$ sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart apache

How can I change the URL to go from 127.0.0.1 to my computers IP address.

I need to figure out how I can get other computers on the network to connect to the alfresco site.

I have a quesstion about redmine mysql DB backup.My redmine’s version is 1.2.1

When I type the command to backup the database:
\installdir\mysql\bin\mysqldump -u root -p bitnami_redmine > e:\backup.sql

it output:

Enter password: **********
mysqldump: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user ’root’@’localhost’ (using password: YES) when trying to connect

It seems the password’s mistake.

But i tried these two passwords: root,bitnami,it also doesn’t work.

I found the file /installdir/apps/redmine/config/database.yml, it shows,

I thied the username “bitname” and the password “68cee79453”, i can NOT backup the database too.

Hello,
I installed a BitNami image on an ec2 instance (bitnami-wordpress-3.2.1-0-linux-x64-ubuntu-10.04-ebs (ami-1faaf85a)). After following the instructions I get to the bitnami homepage and can view my wordpress install.

I want to configure phpmyadmin so I can access it on the ec2 instance’s public IP and ultimately my domain, however I’m not able to save the phpmyadmin.conf. It says the file is read-only.

I’m assuming the correct way to edit this file is:
vi /opt/bitnami/apps/phpmyadmin/conf/phpmyadmin.conf ?
I’ve tried to save with :x! , but it still says it can’t write the file.

I would imagine this may be because the service needs to be stopped first before the file can be written, but I know very little about linux administration.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had exactly the same problem of Safari not opening the link to my WP site that had worked perfectly just yesterday. As a new WordPress user I was very frustrated. But restarting both the MySQL Database and Apache Web Servers from the manager-osx and then going to my 127.0.0.1 link worked perfectly. Thanks for the tip!

I love running your modules, and am considering using the cloud hosting service but we want all of our linux systems running on Amazon Linux AMI’s so that Amazon supports the underlaying OS. Do you have plans to offer Amazon Linux as a base AMI in addition to Ubuntu?
