It’s been hard work, but we are glad to announce that the BitNami Trac Stack ( finally supports Microsoft Windows :)

Quoting from the Trac website (,

Trac is an enhanced wiki and issue tracking system for software development projects. Trac uses a minimalistic approach to web-based software project management. Our mission is to help developers write great software while staying out of the way. Trac should impose as little as possible on a team’s established development process and policies.

It provides an interface to Subversion, an integrated Wiki and convenient reporting facilities.

Trac allows wiki markup in issue descriptions and commit messages, creating links and seamless references between bugs, tasks, changesets, files and wiki pages. A timeline shows all project events in order, making the acquisition of an overview of the project and tracking progress very easy.

The stack bundles and installs Trac and all its dependencies to make it easy as a cake to start using one of the most powerful and well-known open source bug tracking applications. To be precise, it includes:

  • Apache 2.0.63
  • Python 2.4.4
  • mod_python 3.3.1
  • Subversion 1.4.6
  • SQLite 3.5.2
  • Clearsilver 0.9.4
  • PySQLite 2.4.1

Apart from copying the needed files, the installer itself is able to create your own Subversion repository and link it to a project (also created by the installer!) so everything will be ready to run by the time you click the ‘Finish’ button.

We hope you enjoy the installer and that it makes your life easier by taking care of installing everything (which can be a real pain, believe us) for you. You can give feedback or ask for help in the Trac subforum, at
