I am using the bitnami-alfresco-3.3g-1-opensuse-11.1 VirtualBox appliance on a Mac Host computer.

Whenever I try to create a site, here is the output I get after clicking the Submit button:

11160007 Wrapped Exception (with status template): 11160138 Failed to execute script ‘classpath*:alfresco/templates/webscripts/org/alfresco/repository/site/sites.post.json.js’: 11160137 Failed to create directory for file storage: /opt/bitnami/apps/alfresco/data/contentstore/2010/12/16/11/31

When I raised this question on the Alfresco Forum, here is what they answered:

This seems quite clearly as a File System permission issue. Check with what user your tomcat (or whatever app server you are using) is running and make sure this user has the proper permissions in /opt/bitnami/apps/alfresco/data/contentstore/

Can you direct me on how best to remedy this issue.

Thanks

BTW, This appliance could not be loaded in VirtualBox until I use the OVFTool from VMware to convert it to a single vmdk file with an ovf file.

Hi,

BTW, This appliance could not be loaded in VirtualBox until I use the OVFTool from VMware to convert it to a single vmdk file with an ovf file.

Your solution is also valid but you can simply create a new image and specify that the hard disk is the .vmdk file. If you are using the ubuntu version you should enable the “PAE” option in the processor.

11160007 Wrapped Exception (with status template): 11160138 Failed to execute script ‘classpath*:alfresco/templates/webscripts/org/alfresco/repository/site/sites.post.json.js’: 11160137 Failed to create directory for file storage: /opt/bitnami/apps/alfresco/data/contentstore/2010/12/16/11/31

Yes it seems an permission error. You can access in the machine console and type the following command:

$ sudo chown -R 777 /opt/bitnami/apps/alfresco/data/
