Hi,
I would like to know if, by default, the MySQL server is running on a bitnami tomcat stack. ie- it doesn’t have to be started explicitly.

Thanks.

Yes it is running. If you do not want to start during the boot, you can do the following:

$ sudo mv /opt/bitnami/mysql/scripts/ctl.sh /opt/bitnami/mysql/scripts/ctl.sh-backup

Now you will only see tomcat server in the main script:

$ sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh status

Hi I’m running the Bitnami Tomcat stack on Amazon EC2. Since it is already running how do I connect?

I’m not sure what the username password should be.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi,

You can find a quick guide at http://wiki.bitnami.com/cloud/how_to_connect_to…

The SSH user is “bitnami” and you have to use your private key downloaded from AWS.

Beltran,
Thanks so much for all your help. I have logged into my instance with ssh and the pairkey. There I see:
bitnami@ip-10-204-115-77:/opt/bitnami$ sudo ./ctlscript.sh status
apache already running
tomcat already running
mysql already running

Since I launched this ami-0eec1167 from ec2 everything is running. I found the manager password for tomcat but I don’t know any way to connect to Mysql. I would think that this would be a very common question or I’m missing a key piece of information.

Thanks again for the help,

Andrew
