I have an web-app that [currently] only works with a remote LDAP authentication — is this supported by LAMPStack, and if so, how to implement the server to allow it? Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Yes the current LAMP Stack includes LDAP support but you should take a look at how to configure it in your application. If you post the details we can help you.

What I’m trying to do is auth to an ldap server using tls but the ldap_start_tls($ldap) fails with “Could not start TLS” – I’ve set the server.crt, server.key files in the httpd.conf and set the cachain file in the ldap.conf — still getting the “could not start tls”
any ideas?

Hi,

Maybe it you are not using TLS so you can disable the TLS section in the LDAP configuration file: installdir/common/etc/openldap/ldap.conf

# Use the following if client authentication is required
TLSVerifyClient demand
# … or not desired at all
#TLSVerifyClient never

Thanks for the attempt – I tried it, but it didn’t work. I do need to use TLS to auth to our ldap.

Ok, I checked that we compile ldap libraries with TLS support.

Thanks for looking, I’ll keep trying on my end – post anything I find that may help any others that might have this issue as well.
