I’m not sure what’s going on, but displaying images at anything other than actual size gives me this error most of the time:

Error creating thumbnail: dyld: Symbol not found: __cg_jpeg_resync_to_restart
Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources/libTIFF.dylib
Expected in: {path to wiki}/common/lib/libjpeg.62.dylib
in /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources/libTIFF.dylib

Is there something I need to install on top of that either on the system or on the BitNami stack to make things work?

We are trying to reproduce it. It seems a compatibility issue with the new Leopard libraries. As a workaround, could you move the installdir/common/lib/libjpg* libraries to other location, for example /tmp and try to restart the servers?
