Moodle & Postfix on Amazon EC2
|kevin.devin 1 post||
Using Moodle 1.9.7 (ami-643ad20d) on Amazon EC2 — Ubuntu Server instance.
Moodle has been configured and everything seems to work except mail. I thought Moodle would simply use the php-mailer capability, but nothing. Trying to now setup Postfix after running sudo tasksel —section server and adding the Mail Server. At the very end of that installation there appears to be an error.
Nonetheless, I’ve attempted to update the alias file to point to the process_email.php script of Moodle’s but still nothing.
I’m stumped here. Can anyone provide me with any insight on how to get mail to work with this instance?
Many thanks in advance.

The sasy way is to configure the SMTP settings with an external email provider. Take a look this doc to configure with a gmail account http://docs.moodle.org/en/Email_setup_gmail
