Hello…. I’m very new to this!

I installed the Bitname Moodle pack on my WIndows vista laptop yesterday, and it seemed to be installed successfully. It gave me the Moodle home page and the URL it used on my laptop was http://192.168.0.100/moodle/

This morning I tried to go to the homepage using the same URL and it says it has a problem loading the page and times out. How can I get around this? Any help would be so welcome!

Thank you
Laura

Hi Laura,

The problem is that your IP address has changed. Try to specify your correct IP address in the “your_installdir/apps/moodle/htdocs/config.php” file or just specify the 127.0.0.1 ip address.

Try to restart the servers from the shortcuts and try to access again. I hope it helps.

Thank you, Beltran! I changed the IP address to 127.0.0.1 and now I get a new screen but it still doesn’t get me the moodle homepage. Attached is a screengrab of what the new screen looks like.

Also… you say to restart the servers from the shortcuts. What shortcuts should I be looking for?

Thank you so much
Laura

Hello again Beltran. Unfortunately, I still get the screen that I attached to my earlier note. Attached are two more screengrabs showing you what I did as a result of your message. Screengrab1.jpg shows you what I selected first and screengrab2.jpg shows you what I selected next. Nothing ever happened after I selected the service, at least not visibly. Then I went back to try again and got the same result as the screen I grabbed and attached to my second post.
Hopefully that will give you a clue?

Hi,

That’s strange. Could you try to refresh the page or use a different web browser?

Just tried it using internet explorer and got the same results. I refreshed the browsers and deleted all the cookies etc. Then tried again and no go. Should I completely uninstall and reinstall maybe??

Let me try to reproduce on my machine and I will let you know the solution tomorrow. Cheers.

Hi,

I have double checked and changing the wwwroot entry in the config.php file works perfectly. Please check that you changed it properly and it is saved.
