I am new to Linux and just installed Mint 10 for a start.

After I downloaded bitnami-rubystack-2.1-1-dev-linux-installer.bin, I really do not know how to deal with this file.
I tried to search and what i did was

$ chmod 755 bitnami-rubystack-2.1-1-dev-linux-installer.bin
$ ./bitnami-rubystack-2.1-1-dev-linux-installer.bin

but nothing happens. So I really stuck there. Cant proceed on. I tried to MD5 checksum the installer. The hash matches perfectly.

Are you installing it in a 64 bits system? In this case you need to install the compat libraries:

$ sudo apt-get install ia32libs

Then run the installer again. I hope it helps.
