Will there be a linux version?

I would like to see a linux version with both LAMP and Rails. I am running a site and I am gradually migrating from PHP to Rails.

Sure! we are working on it. And we have plans on releasing it soon. Thanks for showing your interest.

You can take a look at an (older) RubyStack for Linux at http://bitrock.com/download_ruby_download.html

As Manuel mentions, we will be including Apache/PHP (and phpmyadmin) soon in the RubyStacks

Hi, I am also very interested in the linux ruby stack. Especially on the Puppy linux System. Recently I try a lot to make it a portable IDE with puppy linux ,plus JDK,Netbeans Ruby IDE,And the “Bit Rock Ruby stack for linux” to work together. Everything is good, I run it on my company ’s old pentium 2.0G,256M in a lightening speed where on the same machine, when using windows ,and InstantRails, It very very very slow. So I think this might be a very good way to go.(portable IDE,puppy linux)

now the only problem is ,the mysql seems can’t run properly, the info is
  1. sh rubystackctl.sh start
    rubystackctl.sh : mysql started at port 3306
    nohup: appending to nohup.out
    expr: syntax error
    chown: unknown user name: mysql
Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /opt/rubystack/mysql/data
STOPPING server from pid file /opt/rubystack/mysql/data/mysqld.pid
    071209 16:11:05 mysqld ended

I tried a lot still can’t fix it.
