Is the bitnami SVN appliance intended to run using just one Main user account (the default “bitnami” user) on the OS hosting the SVN package or via Multiple User accounts on the hosting OS, as in one for each developer?

Thanks KLJ

Hi,

The Subversion configuration is the default one, using the basic authentication in the “passwd” file https://bitnami.com/files/stacks/subversion/1.6….
You can also configure the machine to enable multiple user accounts.

Ok,

I want to allow multiple developers to log into the bitnami svn server using svn+ssh: from their windows development boxes (using TortoiseSVN). I can manually create developer accounts and log into them using SSH but Tortoise SVN doesn’t seem to want to log in.

QUESTION: Is there any particular setting or modification to the bitnami box that I need to do to allow external access via the svn+ssh://… scheme? (or perhaps specifically while using TortoiseSVN? to gain access from an external box?)

Thanks KLJ

Hi,

Could you try to login through ssh to the virtual machine using the user that you created? Please check it that you have enabled ssh access in the machine (which is disabled by default). You can find more info at https://bitnami.com/faq/virtual_machines
