Hello, I am having some trouble getting the VA to work on my ESX host.

I uploaded the folder to my datastore and added the vmx file to inventory. But when I power on the VM I get the following error:
Module DevicePowerOn power on failed.
Unable to create virtual SCSI device for scsi0:0, ‘/vmfs/volumes/4bd21fd6-faeb14d8-2e9d-003048d68aaf/bitnami-joomla-1.6.1-0-opensuse-11.3/bitnami-joomla-1.6.1-0-opensuse-11.3.vmdk’
Failed to open disk scsi0:0: Unsupported or invalid disk type 7. Make sure that the disk has been imported.

What am I doing wrong?

To support ESX you should import to this system:

$ vmkfstools -i original.vmdk new.vmdk

Thanks for the info. It led to to an alternate method, vcenter converter, but I now have it working.

Don’t seem to have YaST, but that is another matter.

You have “zypper” which is the new package system tool for SuSE.
