Hi,

I’ve installed a RubyStack 2.2-0 as a VM (Ubuntu 10.10) in VirtualBox OSE v4.0.4

I would like to manage the databases via webbrowser, I’ve changed the phpmyadmin.conf to “Allow from all” and restarted the apache service in the VM.

When I access the URL http://IPofmyVM/phpmyadmin, it asks for username (administrator) and password (bitnami)

But then, the browser redirects me to http://127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin and I cannot login with the administrator password I used before (see the screeshot https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/q2jkUF_qk…)

Do you know why is that?

I see in my VM that the variable ‘PmaAbsoluteUri’ in /opt/bitnami/apps/phpmyadmin/htdocs/config.inc.php points to the localhost:

$cfg[‘PmaAbsoluteUri’] = ‘http://127.0.0.1:80/phpmyadmin’;

Thanks in advance
Rodrigo

Hello Rodrigo,

This is something we are working on, and it will be fixed in the next release.

In the meantime, you can log in to PHPMyAdmin using the username “root”. So first you would have to sign in using “administrator” and after that, “root”. The password for both screens is the password you provided during the install process (in your case, “bitnami”).

Thanks Josué

I’ve tryed with username ‘root’ and it works fine.
By the way, I was not asked for a SQL password during the installation process. I assume that it was set to “bitnami” by default.

Hi Rodrigo,

You are welcome. And yes, the default MySQL password for the Virtual Appliances is “bitnami”. By default MySQL is not accessible from outside the machine by default, but if you want to change it you just have to follow this small how-to.
