Software Partner Program extends Bitnami's library of applications

Bitnami is now partnering with commercial software vendors to offer an increased range of applications to millions of users. Bitnami’s library will provide an increasing number of enterprise-focused apps

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - September 01, 2015 — Bitnami, the world’s most popular destination for server applications, has announced the expansion of its library to include both open source and commercially licensed server software. Via a new Software Partner Program announced today, Bitnami will work with commercial software vendors to deliver new applications to Bitnami users. These will bring an increased focus on enterprise-class applications.

Bitnami’s user base of millions experiences incredible ease-of-deployment of over 120 popular open source applications. Bitnami stacks take the hassle out of compiling, configuring and managing dependencies by providing ready-to run installers and cloud images for its library of applications. The new partnerships with commercial software vendors will deliver the same benefits for a wider range of applications with an increasing enterprise focus. Users will be able to quickly deploy these applications on local servers, as virtual appliances, and on the leading cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and VMware’s vCloud Air.

“Partnering with Bitnami gave us an opportunity to increase our new user base via a streamlined installation process across different platforms,” said Benjamin Mestrallet, CEO of eXo Platform. “Since the partnership began, we have seen the number of people who convert from initial download to a successful first launch increase by 30%, and the time taken from download to deployment has been drastically reduced.”

“Bitnami has enabled DreamFactory to raise adoption of our open source REST API backend greatly through its ubiquitous presence on over half a dozen platforms and clouds,” says Bill Appleton, CEO of DreamFactory. “With Bitnami, developers are able to install and become productive with DreamFactory on the platform of their choice in just 10 minutes - something that was simply not possible previously.”

“With Bitnami, we were able to bring our enterprise customers a premier deployment experience with high levels of satisfaction” says Anita D’Amico, CEO of Code Dx. “We have been so satisfied with the improvement in delivery we have now standardized all customer installations on Bitnami’s packaging technology. This has given us the additional benefit of lowering the support overhead on our team.”

“We’ve responded to consistent user feedback requesting a more diverse and complete library of apps by extending our offering to include commercial applications.” says Erica Brescia, COO of Bitnami. “We look forward to growing our catalog of enterprise-class offerings on Bitnami while still providing the same ease of deployment that Bitnami users have come to expect.” The new program will help Bitnami software partners focus on building great products while ensuring that Bitnami users have an extraordinary experience getting started with the app whether they are deploying in native, virtual or cloud environments.
