Bitnami Announces Consulting Offer for Stacksmith to Accelerate Application Migration to Microsoft Azure
Bitnami has released a free trial of Stacksmith Software-as-a-Service and a supporting consulting service offering in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - September 25, 2018 — Today, Bitnami, a leading application packaging and maintenance company, announced the availability of a consulting service to jump-start the process of using its Stacksmith product to migrate applications to Microsoft Azure. This offer can be found in the Azure Marketplace, an online store providing applications and services for use on Azure. Bitnami customers can now take advantage of the productive and trusted Azure cloud platform, with streamlined deployment and management.
A longtime Microsoft partner, Bitnami is best known for the catalog of over 130 open-source applications and development stacks that it packages, maintains, and makes available in the Azure Marketplace, providing the users who launch them with a trusted, click-to-deploy experience.
Stacksmith is a productization of this packaging and maintenance technology, designed to be used by enterprises with their own applications. Stacksmith takes applications and scripts, repackages and optimizes them for Azure or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and delivers the templates needed to deploy them into your target Azure service.
Building on the announcement in May at Microsoft Build 2018 that Azure and AKS support had been added to Stacksmith, Bitnami is now pleased to announce the attainment of Microsoft Azure Gold Status, and that Stacksmith is now a co-sell ready Software-as-a-Service solution in the Azure Marketplace.
In addition, to facilitate the easiest engagement and help ensure the success of enterprise customers, Bitnami has created a Stacksmith consulting offer, which is now available from the Azure Marketplace under the consulting services category. This offer is designed to provide all the support that enterprises will need to get up and running quickly and efficiently with Stacksmith. With this offer, Bitnami will work directly with customers to:
- Set up a Stacksmith evaluation account
- Connect Stacksmith to their Azure account
- Evaluate their chosen application for readiness (Linux)
- Gather the required resources to package and deploy their application
- Package their application for Azure and/or AKS
- Deploy their application to the cloud
- Demonstrate how Stacksmith maintains their application to keep it up-to-date and secure over time
“The ‘Certified by Bitnami’ mark on applications in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace has long been trusted and respected by users,” said Erica Brescia, Co-founder, Bitnami. “With Stacksmith, we can now provide this same trusted packaging and maintenance experience to enterprise customers for their applications. Beyond simply supporting Azure and Azure Kubernetes as platforms, we created a simple, effective, and personalized consulting service offering to show customers how to get applications to the cloud quickly.”
Stacksmith is an easy way to get enterprise applications up and running on Azure and AKS. In so doing, Stacksmith enables enterprises to:
- Improve their application delivery and maintenance framework, enabling enforcement of enterprise IT and security policies and operations best practices on applications
- Simplify cloud migration by allowing enterprises to move and improve applications so they can access native cloud services
- Provide continuous golden image security, allowing IT operations to control and secure OS and application configurations and easily replenish baselines
- Create enterprise cloud service catalogs to centrally house standardized assets and make them available across the organization
“Through Microsoft Azure Marketplace, customers around the world can easily find, buy, and deploy partner solutions they can trust, all certified and optimized to run on Azure,” said Sajan Parihar, Director, Microsoft Azure Platform at Microsoft Corp. “We’re happy to welcome Bitnami’s new solution to the growing Azure Marketplace ecosystem.”
