Reviews of Bitnami OpenERP Write a Review →
Installation was a breeze. Ran into some problems with external IP configuration, but that was a networking problem on our side.
Spent about two weeks evaluating the various modules of OpenERP. Good functionality, and lots of documentation available - including technical detail. Python skills required to really get maximum value out of the system, but very open and expandable.
Some complaints about it not being truly "open source" - given that OpenERP charges for upgrade scripts. However, not a problem for us, because we do not expect something this broad to be totally free.
We are recommending this to our client for use in production...
it is better to add version 8 rc1 it is functional and can b e apdated to the staible release soon.
like in drupal 8 it has bitnami altough it is not relaese till now
To me OpenERP was the results of years of searching.
I always worked in desktop environments with software managment tools and was thinking seriously on adopt an ERP. Due to some fear to the cloud, I gave some weak steps in this field, and there appeared bitnami to the rescue! Just a couple clicks and the most awesome software was on cloud ready to receive data :) Thanks guys, well done!
I was looking for cloud hosting for OpenERP but was worried about the complexity of creating my own machine in AWS. The Bitnami wrapper around AWS made setting up my instance of OpenERP very easy. I am now up and running with a developer option, without the restrictions of the native hosted service. I will be keen to see how Bitnami can help when it comes to the next OpenERP upgrade. Really impressed with the service.
Trying to set a simple user in OpenERP during the first day of the free trial. Filled out the basic info and it's now going on 20 min and still trying to save the new user I created. Great first impression. Any other ERP recommendations from the community?
