I have downloaded the latest pack. After two day I gave up and removed the appliance.
It's nonsense that I need to make changes even to access the VM with an SSH client. No any VMware tools are pre-installed. Many changes have to be made manually according to get it work. I tried a WordPress upgrade and it's just cycling and nothing is happening. Normally it should take place in a minute. The appliance is built with VMware WorkSation version 5, but the current version is 12!!!
I had a really terrible experience with this product.
After days of messing with EC2 service I decided to try Bitnami's deployment even though I saw many posters mentioning permission errors. Installed it one machine and haven't had any issues - yet. Truth be told I'm sure I'll run into plenty as the site is built out further.
Now, the one that earned Bitnami a 1-star install. After scouring numerous threads and forums I still have yet to figure out why Bitnami won't allow me to SSH into the back end JUST to change permissions so I can adjust the cache to upload a WP theme. Should be simple, right? Not with this product. After days of searching, consulting with friends and nearing a deadline to launch a project near to my heart, I'm still stuck trying to figure out a "1-click install" solution. Yea, whatever. Save your time and do a clean install or pay someone to go through the headache.
