Need PHP or Zend Framework Training?

Why use the Bitnami LAMP Stack?

Bitnami makes it easy to run LAMP in the cloud, locally or virtually. The Bitnami LAMP Stack is:

  • Up-to-date

We track every release of LAMP and update our stack shortly after it's released.

  • Secure

If serious security issues are discovered, we provide new versions of LAMP as soon as possible, often within hours of the availability of a fix.

  • Consistent

With Bitnami, you get the same software stack and configuration regardless of where you are deploying LAMP or other Bitnami Applications. This makes it easy to migrate between different platforms.

With the Bitnami LAMP Stack compiling, configuring and all of its dependencies are taken care of, so it works out-of-the-box.

    Love Bitnami LAMP

    by Tovis Bratsburg on

This has been wonderful, I love the ability to more or less do anything I want with whatever settings. If I mess it up too much during testing, I can just launch a new one. We dumped GoDaddy and have been using this in production for months now. Could not be happier.

    7.0.22-1 LAMP stack (Debian 8)

    by Andrius Rinkevicius on

There is issue with 7.0.22-1 LAMP stack (Debian 8) for AWS. Apache server is 2.4.27, and is compiled with apr-util version is 1.5.4 (checked with httpd -V). While this version requires 1.6.0.

It seems that for this reason Subversion module does not loads with error:

Cannot load modules/ into server: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ undefined symbol: apr_crypto_block_cleanup

Great package, but limited in use

    by Vladimir Bulgaru on

We use LAMP mainly to deploy several web applications on the same machine. The reason why it is great - it has all that's needed, works out of the box and it has really easy ways to tweak and adjust the stack to your needs. The bad thing is that the stack cannot be upgraded. The cloud version doesn't yet have the PHP7 version.

I couldn't make MySQL work in Bitnami LAMP

    by Stef Joosten on

I tried to install Bitnami LAMP in Azure, but I could not find the root password for MySQL. I tried everything, but stopped desillusioned after searching for 14,5 hours. The documentation did not give the correct answers, so I am now installing LAMP from elsewhere.
