It is easy to replace php and mysql latest versions by downloading official releases. MySQL data directory need to be regenerated according to the config values. Works perfectly.
these are not updated so we have to do it manually for php 7.1, mysql 5.7. when will this be updated so we can test our apps
The stack is amazing at handling the load for high-traffic web applications. The configuration by Bitnami is fairly good. The significant drawbacks are:
- no well documented process of deploying several web-apps
- lack of pagespeed integration
- impossibility to recompile the NGINX with additional modules
- lack of PHP7

Everyone is moving on to PHP7 including WordPress. I am also taking advantage of some new features that are not available in 5.6 and I love Nginx but setting up everything from scratch is a pain.
