The Bitnami ownCloud Stack provides a one-click install solution for ownCloud. Download installers and virtual machines, or run your own ownCloud server in the cloud.

ownCloud is a personal productivity powerhouse. It gives you universal access to all your files, contacts, calendars and bookmarks across all of your devices. Unlike many of the shared repository services out there, with ownCloud, you have your own, private repo. However, just like the public repo companies, with ownCloud you can share your files with friends and co-workers. If you need it, ownCloud even integrates with other storage providers. Best of all, ownCloud is open source and free!

Why use the Bitnami ownCloud Stack?

Bitnami makes it easy to run ownCloud in the cloud, locally or virtually. The Bitnami ownCloud Stack is:

  • Up-to-date

We track every release of ownCloud and update our stack shortly after it's released.

  • Secure

If serious security issues are discovered, we provide new versions of ownCloud as soon as possible, often within hours of the availability of a fix.

  • Consistent

With Bitnami, you get the same software stack and configuration regardless of where you are deploying ownCloud or other Bitnami Applications. This makes it easy to migrate between different platforms.

With the Bitnami ownCloud Stack compiling, configuring and all of its dependencies are taken care of, so it works out-of-the-box.

    Owncloud 10 on OS X 10.11.6

    by Marek Gasior on

This is first version which is working continusly (daemons dont crash).

Upload of photos from iPhone is working reliably through SSH (using PhotoSync). Any WebDAV client just stalls after few/few tens of photos uploaded.

Now I just need to figure out how to make Apache autoregister its ports to Bonjour maily to be able to wake my mac instantly.

Installation run correctly, but at the end when i try start i have message :

"This version of ownCloud is not compatible with PHP 7.1.

You are currently running 7.1.2. Please use at least ownCloud 10.0.0."

So ... impossible to use ...and lost time for installation ...

    Does not JUST WORK

    by James Saldana on

    El Capitan 10.11.4 with 5.2 OS X Server.app

Installed the OC stack as a service (root user):

    1. Does not auto-start. Requires a plist install as a daemon but the only example given by Bitnami is incomplete. When I did get a daemon installed Apache and MySQL started but Bitnami's control shows MySQL as "Stopped"

    2. After restarting the server ownCloud is blocked by the OS X application firewall. Bitnami provides no instructions on how to bypass the firewall which leads me to believe they never bothered to test the installation with the firewall on.

    3. I attempted to add httpd.bin/httpd and mysql.bin/mysql but the firewall continues to block ownCloud after restart. I also installed Murus 1.4 to bypass the OS X application firewall using the built-in PF firewall to create a static port but the port is still blocked.

Disappointed. Bitnami should have provided instructions or a checkbox option to install an auto-start daemon and by-pass the default firewall.

Hi James, Thanks for the feedback- you bring up some good points, and we are going to update our documentation to make it easier to configure the application on OS X.

    Funktioniert alels Super

    by Simon peters on

Ich finde Bitnami bietet einen tollen Service an. Als ownCloud Anbieter nutze ich jedoch ocloud.de . Hier habe ich einen kostenfreien Account ohne zeitliche Beschr√§nkung und das absolut verschl√ľsselt.

Almost perfect for day to day use Cloud Storage :)

    by Renan Prasta Jenie on

    - Cloud Storage + RSS + Mail + Task + Calendar, which basically all I need in a package :)

    - Can add multi media player too. Too heavy for my poor server though. T T

    - Easy to use. :)

[Purist, OK, they need to be installed separately by in app menu. :)]

    - Slo~w. Webdav based, so it really slo~w when your data is massively numbered, like, 500 000 files, compared to RSync based file transfer.

    - Problem arise when you copy the data directly to server, like using FTP. T T

    - Should be easy to cluster on paper. Just install separate instance in separate CPUs and point to the same database. I havent tried it. :)
