The Bitnami Parse Server Stack provides a one-click install solution for Parse Server. Download installers and virtual machines, or run your own Parse Server server in the cloud.

Parse is a platform that enables users to add a scalable and powerful backend to launch a full-featured app for iOS, Android, JavaScript, Windows, Unity, and more.

Bitnami Virtual Machines contain a minimal Linux operating system with Parse Server installed and configured. This enables you to run the application without actually installing it on your computer. It's completely isolated from other software installed on your machine and makes an ideal sandbox for your project.

Using the Bitnami Virtual Machine image requires hypervisor software such as VMware Player or VirtualBox. Both of these hypervisors are available free of charge. After installing your preferred hypervisor, download and extract the Bitnami Virtual Machine by following the instructions in our getting started guide for VMware or VirtualBox.

Why use the Bitnami Parse Server Stack?

Bitnami makes it easy to run Parse Server in the cloud, locally or virtually. The Bitnami Parse Server Stack is:

  • Up-to-date

We track every release of Parse Server and update our stack shortly after it's released.

  • Secure

If serious security issues are discovered, we provide new versions of Parse Server as soon as possible, often within hours of the availability of a fix.

  • Consistent

With Bitnami, you get the same software stack and configuration regardless of where you are deploying Parse Server or other Bitnami Applications. This makes it easy to migrate between different platforms.

With the Bitnami Parse Server Stack compiling, configuring and all of its dependencies are taken care of, so it works out-of-the-box.

    Parse Server Hosting Experience

    by George Batschinski on

After trying many services, I think a parse hosting company and managed mongodb is the way route for most parse developers and this service lacks it. I came across Back4App and I'm glad that I did.

    Awesomeness

    by Daisy Ramos on

It's incredible how far the Parse-Server has grown in less than 6 months of their retirement announcement. I initially started testing the open source platform just days after their announcement, yes it wasn't as feature rich but incredible how they offered this solution with a lot out of the box. Now with parse dashboard supported there is no saying how far this platform will go. With a little bit of tweaking and maintenance the Parse-Server has been a nice solution as an alternative BaaS.

    Low maturity level

    by Huansheng Liu on

It's good to package all dependencies in one, but tot a turn-key solution at all. Too many manual configuration steps on the back-end server file (server.js).

Doesn't come close to parse experience

    by Sir Joe on

After trying many services, I think a managed parse server and managed mongodb is the best route for most parse developers and this service lacks it. I came across NodeChef and I'm glad that I did.
