MyBB Follow | Open Source

The Bitnami MyBB Stack provides a one-click install solution for MyBB. Download virtual machines or run your own MyBB server in the cloud.

MyBB is a discussion board that has been around for a while; it has evolved from other bulletin boards into the forum package it is today. Therefore, it is a professional and efficient discussion board, developed by an active team of developers.

Bitnami Virtual Machines contain a minimal Linux operating system with MyBB installed and configured. This enables you to run the application without actually installing it on your computer. It's completely isolated from other software installed on your machine and makes an ideal sandbox for your project.

Using the Bitnami Virtual Machine image requires hypervisor software such as VMware Player or VirtualBox. Both of these hypervisors are available free of charge. After installing your preferred hypervisor, download and extract the Bitnami Virtual Machine by following the instructions in our getting started guide for VMware or VirtualBox.

Why use the Bitnami MyBB Stack?

Bitnami makes it easy to run MyBB in the cloud, locally or virtually. The Bitnami MyBB Stack is:

  • Up-to-date

We track every release of MyBB and update our stack shortly after it's released.

  • Secure

If serious security issues are discovered, we provide new versions of MyBB as soon as possible, often within hours of the availability of a fix.

  • Consistent

With Bitnami, you get the same software stack and configuration regardless of where you are deploying MyBB or other Bitnami Applications. This makes it easy to migrate between different platforms.

With the Bitnami MyBB Stack compiling, configuring and all of its dependencies are taken care of, so it works out-of-the-box.

    Excellent BB

    by Randall Crawford on

By far the easiest BB to install and customize. I was up and running including customization within 2 hours start to finish.
