The Bitnami WordPress Stack provides a one-click install solution for WordPress. Download installers and virtual machines, or run your own WordPress server in the cloud.

WordPress is one of the world’s most popular web publishing platforms for building blogs and websites. It can be customized via a wide selection of themes, extensions and plug-ins.

Bitnami Virtual Machines contain a minimal Linux operating system with WordPress installed and configured. This enables you to run the application without actually installing it on your computer. It's completely isolated from other software installed on your machine and makes an ideal sandbox for your project.

Using the Bitnami Virtual Machine image requires hypervisor software such as VMware Player or VirtualBox. Both of these hypervisors are available free of charge. After installing your preferred hypervisor, download and extract the Bitnami Virtual Machine by following the instructions in our getting started guide for VMware or VirtualBox.

One of the easiest ways to try out Wordpress

    by Jason Lawton on

Bitnami provides one of the easiest ways for people to try out Wordpress on their own computer. It doesn't matter what skill level the person is, or what kind of computer (pc/Mac/Linux) they have.

At a local wordpress meetup I used bitnami's Wordpress stack to teach a group of about 20 people how to set up a local installation of Wordpress for them to mess around with. This way they could try out different themes and plugins without potentially messing up the site that many of them were using to run their own businesses.

    It's really rousing!

by Alessandro Gambin da Silva on

After the advent of CMS, I started my work in Joomla. However, with the massive growth of WordPress, I felt the need to also work with this CMS, because of its broad market.

Bitnami made this practically transparent transition. This helped me to spend much less time in both the development and publication of new sites.

I highly recommend using WordPress with this the Bitnami stack, because the increase in efficiency is significant, minimizing installation time, developing and publishing new sites.

Bitnami simplifies and takes on much of the work, increasing productivity, letting us focus more on development.

    Bitnami rocks! :)
