So far so good. I'm a small business with an extremely small team for an ecommerce store. I rely on X-Cart hosting tech support to assist me with some of the minor fixes, upgrades, and tweaking of my application. Their tech support team has be extremely helpful so far. I have the X-Cart hosting service, and it's worth it.
In general i do love using xcart and i do appreciate the knowledge of the Technical Support Engineers when i need their help. In one day Roman Nikiforov fixed an issue i had with the new arrivals menu. Thank you.
I got the best support ever. They even replied me at weekends and resolved lots of bugs and my problems with kindly manner. Also, this whole system is dope and flexible. I can do what I want~~~Really PERFECT!!

XCart 5 is the choice for mid size e-commerce platforms.
For the features that you get, and the price of the mid size business platform hosting and software solutions, no other E-commerce platform can compete. Yes, pricing differs among vendors if you have 100 items. But if you have 10,000 items, X-Cart 5.0 is the way to go. We looked at other platforms before making the decision, and all other solutions required either a per transaction cost, or a higher monthly fee. X-Cart also did not lack in the visual customization department, mobile compatibility, SEO, and order management.
Currently we are signed up for the included email tech support, and they take care of all issues within 24 hours. We have also requested some customized features which they were willing to code for us at a very reasonable cost. If you try to request a new feature from another E-commerce vendor, maybe they will think about it.
But with X-Cart ... no problem ... how do you want it done?
In 2005, I was looking for a shopping cart that included the following
- Under my control, (no third party required to make changes for me)
- Was not proprietary code (no black box)
- Lifetime license, vs monthly lease payments
- Was intuitive to setup and maintain
- Allowed optional modification
- Had a large, knowledgeable forum
- Had support for bugs in supported releases, and optional pay support for non-supported releases or
- Offered fee-base support for non-bug fix or special requests
- Had a responsive support staff
- Had regular enhancements/improvements to the product
- Was affordable
- Easy to automate order processing via php code, to send orders to my Ship My Orders fulfillment center
- Easy to interface invoices and payment receipts to Quickbooks (Transaction Pro Importer 5.0)
In 2005, the reviews I found of the choices at that time, had X-cart at the top of the list.
I have written PHP code to create a CSV feed of my orders to go throughout the day to my fulfillment center, shipmyorders.com, which operates warehouses on both the East and West coast. The X-cart SQL databases were easy to design my automation code to enable this support.
I was also able to easily create a secondary version of the X-cart customer and order databases to support my AMAZON store orders. Both sets of code allow much of the required work to process my customer orders automatically.
I use Quickbooks as my accounting package. Since I have both Amazon and X-cart orders I started using Transaction PRO Import (TPI 5.0) over a year ago to import my invoices and receive payments into my Quickbooks. I did not like any of the cloud based, or other enterprise accounting interfaces available, for many reasons including, I wanted to own my product ($199 purchase).
I have made two major upgrades over the past few years that were triggered by credit card industry requirements. X-cart provided the needed support in upgrade releases with plenty of time for me to do my testing and upgrade. I chose to purchase ‘2 licenses’ of X-cart years ago, so I can do major testing on a ‘test server’ prior to any upgrade. My last major upgrade was in Sept 2014. I did extensive backup, recovery testing, prior to implementing the new release, and at cutover time, my system was down under an hour, and there were no problems.
For my environment, X-cart provides the functions and support needed. I have been able to find answers to questions/problems I have encountered over the past 10 years from the X-cart forum users. Occasionally, I have needed developer support for something I wanted, and easily found affordable skilled members of the forum who contracted the work.
I highly recommend X-cart to any person looking for a industrial strength shopping cart that they can operate and setup themselves if they have IT knowledge, or find a large community of contract people to provide the support.
