HHVM Follow hhvm.com | Open Source

HHVM is an open source virtual machine designed for executing programs written in Hack and PHP, originary developed by Facebook. HHVM uses a just-in-time (JIT) compilation approach to achieve superior performance while maintaining the development flexibility that PHP provides. It’s compatible with almost all the existing PHP code and it’s under very active development. The Bitnami HHVM package include the latest version of HHVM, Apache, PHP and MySQL.

Download installers and virtual machines, or run your own HHVM server in the cloud.

Bitnami Virtual Machines contain a minimal Linux operating system with HHVM installed and configured. This enables you to run the application without actually installing it on your computer. It's completely isolated from other software installed on your machine and makes an ideal sandbox for your project.

Using the Bitnami Virtual Machine image requires hypervisor software such as VMware Player or VirtualBox. Both of these hypervisors are available free of charge. After installing your preferred hypervisor, download and extract the Bitnami Virtual Machine by following the instructions in our getting started guide for VMware or VirtualBox.

Why use the Bitnami HHVM Stack?

Bitnami makes it easy to run HHVM in the cloud, locally or virtually. The Bitnami HHVM Stack is:

  • Up-to-date

We track every release of HHVM and update our stack shortly after it's released.

  • Secure

If serious security issues are discovered, we provide new versions of HHVM as soon as possible, often within hours of the availability of a fix.

  • Consistent

With Bitnami, you get the same software stack and configuration regardless of where you are deploying HHVM or other Bitnami Applications. This makes it easy to migrate between different platforms.

With the Bitnami HHVM Stack compiling, configuring and all of its dependencies are taken care of, so it works out-of-the-box.
