  • Secure

If serious security issues are discovered, we provide new versions of Spree as soon as possible, often within hours of the availability of a fix.

  • Consistent

With Bitnami, you get the same software stack and configuration regardless of where you are deploying Spree or other Bitnami Applications. This makes it easy to migrate between different platforms.

With the Bitnami Spree Stack compiling, configuring and all of its dependencies are taken care of, so it works out-of-the-box.

    Not convinced

    by adam h on

I was not impressed by spree. The feel and look of it all just wasnt convincing and did not inspire any confidence. Theming could be more logical and easier to do. Shortage of documentation.

Generally saves a lot of time but..

    by Aaron Delaney on

I am using spree to setup an online commerce site and in general it's rather good. It's self contained and nice to work with, and having phpmyadmin pre-installed really does save a ton of time.

That being said I feel it should have better documentation in regards to the stack setup. It took me a while to figure out their apache conf and ctlscript.

In ragards to advice, It uses passenger so you might be in store for some annoying bugs with bundler. If you're installing new gems make sure to 'bundle pack' and 'bundle install --path vendor/cache'
